World’s first quantum-driven secure chip on silicon is “iPhone moment” for IoT security
A British company says its newly launched quantum-driven secure chip (QDSC) on silicon is a world-first in IoT security and almost impossible to hack.
Unveiled by Crypto Quantique at the IoT Solutions World Congress, the QDSC uses advanced cryptography and quantum physics to provide end-to-end security for any connected device. Crypto Quantique says each QDSC is unique and cannot be cloned – making it highly impervious to breaches.
The number of internet of things (IoT) devices in operation worldwide will soar by 12% a year from around 27 billion in 2017 to 125 billion by 2030, according to IHS Markit.
Connected devices are proliferating in commercial as well as consumer markets. Crypto Quantique says its new product can cut costs and reduce security risks for mission critical environments like utilities, transport and banking.
