US Department of Homeland Security reveals new cybersecurity strategy
The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has rethought its strategy on identifying and managing the national cybersecurity risk.
It argues that the current cyber threat landscape requires it to have a more comprehensive strategy that goes beyond the defence of specific assets.
The department says its intent is for the strategy to enable the harmonisation and prioritisation of DHS planning, programming, budgeting, and operational activities across all DHS cybersecurity mission areas.
By 2023, the department intends to have improved national cybersecurity risk management by increasing security and resilience across government networks and critical infrastructure; decreasing illicit cyber activity; improving responses to cyber incidents; and fostering a more secure and reliable cyber ecosystem through a unified departmental approach, strong leadership, and close partnership with other federal and non-federal entities. ..Read More..
